You Need to Know the Kalooki 40 Game Rules
Kalooki 40 is basically a game variation of Kalooki so we are talking about a rummy game that is highly similar but with some minor differences. What is interesting is the fact that Kalooki 40 rules are really easy to learn and it will just take a few minutes to understand, especially if you played rummy games in the past. Give a look also to canasta rules and compare between them.
According to official Kalooki 40 game rules the game is played with the use of 2 card decks and 2 jokers. We are thus faced with a total card count of 103. Every player will be dealt 13 cards at the start of a game. The rest of the cards (the ones that are not dealt) will be placed in a pile, face down on the playing table. One card will be placed face up in order to start a discard pile.
The point values of the cards are different when compared with other rummy games. A joker will be worth 25 points, an ace 11 points, face cards 10 points each and the rest of the cards will be worth the numeric value they show. What is interesting in kalooki 40 game rules is the fact that before you make your first meld you would need to make sure that it reaches at least 40 points. In kalooki 51 we need to reach 51 points while in 40 we need 40 points, thus the difference in name. You need to also remember that you are not allowed to pick up a card from the present discard pile if you did not meld.
Kalooki 40 game rules will also allow you to add to the melds that other players created. You will win when you get rid of all the cards in your hand except one that will be discarded as a mark of the player’s turn ending. Every turn will start with picking up a card from the stock or discard pile and discarding one in the discard pile. When a winning move is made then the game is over and nobody can lay any extra melds that have been kept and not placed on the table. The players that lost will get penalty points by adding all the point values of the cards that are still in their hands. Remember that in order to play and win, you also need to learn kalooki 40 strategy and then practicing it a lot.
